Women's Cross Country Finishes 12th at Great Lakes Regional

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - The Manchester University women's cross country team placed two runners on the Great Lakes All-Region team on Saturday afternoon.  Senior Hannah Wappes (Columbia City, Ind./Columbia City) placed 22nd with a time of 22:06, while and junior Ana Acevedo (Chesterton, Ind./Chesterton) earned a 31st place finish after posting a time of 22:26.  Saturday's race featured 233 total runners.  Both Wappes and Acevedo garnered All-Great Lakes Region honors.

As a team, the Spartans placed 12th out of 34 teams in a highly competitive field that included all the member institutions of the NCAA Division III Great Lakes Region. 

Other notable performances from Saturday included Emily Ewen (Wolcott, Ind./Tri-County), who was the third Spartan to finish, placing 106th with a time of 23:47.  Sydney Young (Patoka, Ind./Princeton) placed just behind Ewen at 106th with an overall time of 23:53.46.  Emily Lynn (North Manchester, Ind./Manchester) posted a time of 23:58, good for 111th place.
