Jordan earns all-region honor, MU ends in top 15

GRAND RAPIDS, MICH. – When the dust settled at the 2013 NCAA Division III Great Lakes regional meet at Calvin College's Gainey Athletic Fields Saturday, Nov. 16, Manchester University head coach Brian Cashdollar saw bright things on the horizon.

MU concluded its 2013 campaign, ending with 454 points and a 15th-place finish. However, the Black and Gold were the top finishing Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference team in the meet, eclipsing Hanover, who edged them for the league title, by 16 points.

Freshman Mariah Jordan (Fort Wayne, Ind.), putting the wraps on a sparkling slate, claimed all-region honors. She placed 28th to lead the way. Junior Rachel Weeber (Goshen, Ind.) was next in line, ending 66th.

"The team put in a very strong effort amongst a tough field," Cashdollar said. "All of the runners battled throughout. I'm so happy to see them end the year this way, and, with Mariah getting an all-region honor, it really adds to what they accomplished."
