Volleyball Rolls Past Rival Anderson on Wednesday

ANDERSON, Ind. – The Manchester University volleyball team rolled to a victory at rival Anderson University in four sets on Wednesday October 30.

The Spartans defeated the Ravens by set scores of 25-17, 25-23, 11-25 and 25-16.  Wednesday's victory was the first Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference win of the season for Manchester.

Halle Planck (Gas City, Ind./Mississinewa) led Manchester with 16 kills on Wednesday night.  Kara Heckmuller (Cincinnati, Ohio/Oak Hills) chipped in 12 kills.

Three Spartans reached double figures in digs. Mackenzie Rooks (Columbus, Ind./Columbus) and Rachel Ressler (Tipton, Ind./Tipton) both finished with 18 and 20 digs, respectively.  Anna Marie Lawrie (Indianapolis, Ind./Roncalli) tallied 14 digs against Anderson.

Lauren Gandhi (Westfield, Ind./Guerin Catholic) posted a match-high 27 assists.  Alexandria Collins (Lowell, Ind./Lowell) finished with 11 assists.

Manchester will travel to Hanover College on Friday November 1 for a 7 p.m. matchup with the Panthers.  MU will conclude the season on Saturday November 2 with a road trip to nationally ranked Transylvania University.
