ANDERSON, IND. – Freshman middle hitter Kara Heckmuller (Cincinnati, Ohio) proved strong offensive and defensively at the net for Manchester University Thursday, Oct. 11.

She registered eight kills with only one error in 17 attempts for a brilliant .412 attack percentage. Heckmuller also produced two solo blocks and one block assist for interim head coach Ivan Matos' crew during a 17-25, 26-28, 16-25 loss at the hands of Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference rival Anderson University. A pair of seniors also found themselves looking at impressive numbers on the final stats sheet at O.C. Lewis Gymnasium, as middle hitter Hannah Tevis (Royal Center, Ind.) tallied a double-double of 10 kills and 10 digs to go with three block assists, and right side hitter Haley Duncan (Albion, Ind.) finished with nine kills, nine digs, and two block assists.

Manchester University (5-14 overall, 1-3 HCAC) looks to put the brakes on a three-match skid Wednesday, Oct. 17. Defiance College comes to Stauffer-Wolfe Arena for a 7 p.m. conference match.
