They were held off by Earlham College in Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference action in four back and forth sets on the road that afternoon … Senior right side hitter Haley Duncan (Albion, Ind.), who's reeled off seven double-digit kill efforts in her last eight appearances, enters the Golden State expedition as the league leader in kills per set (3.64). She's only 18 kills short of a third straight 200-plus season … Duncan isn't the only statistical shining star. Junior defensive specialist/libero Anna Marie Lawrie (Indianapolis, Ind) has a run of 10 straight double-digit dig matches in tow. She's ninth in digs per set (4.12) and just off the league's first 10 in total digs (206 – No. 11); senior middle hitter Hannah Tevis (Royal Center, Ind.) has turned in multiple block totals in half of her last 12 outings including a season-best six at Earlham, while freshman middle/outside hitter Samantha Campbell (Brownsburg, Ind.) adds in for a formidable defensive duo, as she has five two-or-more block efforts in her previous 10 appearances; and senior setter Dakota Stanichuk (Athens, Mich.) has compiled double-figure assist numbers in nine of her last 11 opportunities which include a pair of 30-or-more totals among the many mathematical achievements for the Spartans … Manchester University returns to HCAC action Thursday, Oct. 11, with the program's annual clash against rival Anderson University.
