Home schedule wraps up Wednesday

Bluffton University pays a visit to Stan Weller Court honoring Coaches Hoffman and Wolfe Wednesday, Oct. 25.

Match details: First serve is 7 p.m. for the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference contest … Live audio, statistics and video are available via links at www.muspartans.com, the Internet home of Manchester University athletics … Coach Bryndon Paulsen's team sports an 11-10 overall and 2-6 conference record, entering the evening looking to stop a two-match skid. BU is 15-10 overall and 5-2 in league play and comes in sporting a nine-match series' win streak.

Spartan Shorts: Sophomore middle hitter Riley Patterson (Walkerton, Ind.) and senior outside hitters Ally Roskos (Elkhart, Ind.) and Brandy Whitaker (Monrovia, Ind.) are recognized prior to match start as they appear in their final home match … Junior right side hitter Haley Duncan (Albion, Ind.) tallied her seventh .200-or-better attack percentage in the last eight matches, leading Manchester University at Mt. St. Joseph University Oct. 21. Moving one kill shy of 200, she hammered nine successful attack attempts at the Lions with no errors in 22 attempts for a remarkable .409 clip. Beyond those numbers, it was a difficult afternoon at the Harrington Center, as the home team hit at a sparkling .267 clip in route to a 25-17, 25-17, 25-22 HCAC sweep. Sophomore outside hitter Emma DeWitt (Brookston, Ind.) ended with seven kills, 14 digs and a block assist, and Roskos added six kills and 12 digs … Duncan, who went over the 500-kill mark for her career earlier this season, needs just one to register her second successive 200-or-more season total. She's the team leader in overall successful attacks and kills per set, averaging 2.84, as well as total blocks (34) and blocks per set (.49). Patterson will wind up her two-year playing career as this fall's best in attack percentage (.265); freshman setter Lauren Gandhi (Westfield, Ind.) is at the front of the class in service aces (33) and assists (35); and sophomore defensive specialist/libero Anna Marie Lawrie (Indianapolis, Ind.) leads the way in digs (284) and is closing in on her second successive 300-or-more year total … Gandhi's service ace numbers play well in the conference. Her .5 per set are second-best … The Black and Gold conclude their campaign Saturday, Oct. 28, traveling to Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association foe St. Mary's of Indiana for a 1 p.m. start.
