UPLAND, Ind. – The Manchester University men's and women's outdoor track and field teams were in action on Saturday at the George Glass Invitational hosted by Taylor University.
No team scores were kept on the afternoon.
For the men's squad, the 4-x-100 meter relay team came in second-place, crossing the finish line in 43.31. The 4-x-400 meter relay team placed fifth on Saturday afternoon with an ovarell time of 3:43.04. Anthony Harris earned a sixth-place finish in the 110 meter hurdles with a time of 18.90. Justin Meredith had a pair of strong performances in the field events on Saturday. The senior placed fifth in the triple jump with a top jump of 12.77 meters. He then placed sixth in the javelin throw with a final distance of 42.77 meter.
For the Spartan women, the 4-x-400 meter relay team earned an event win, leading the field with a top time of 4:14.05 on Saturday afternoon. Hannah Wappes placed second in the 800 meters with a runner-up time of 2:21.11. Ana Acevedo placed sixth in the 1500 meters, crossing the finish line with a 4:56.73 mark. Laina Boggs led the Spartans in the field events, placing second in the javelin with a final throw of 37.37 meters. She also finished in the fourth-place in the shot put with a throw of 12.06 meters.
