NORTH MANCHESTER, IND. – Recent graduate Jacey Cauhorn (Kendallville, Ind.) represented Manchester University on the 2017-18 United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association's all-academic honors in track and field.
Cauhorn's award continues an impressive run for the Spartans' program, as at least one MU student-athlete honoree has been noted in each of the last three seasons. Her honor wrapped up a sparkling collegiate career, as she captured nine meet championship event titles, including Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference crowns in the discus outdoors this past spring and the shot put this past winter indoors. Her name is among the all-time top 10 outdoors in the shot put, discus (ranked second), hammer and javelin (school record holder) as well as the shot put and weight throw indoors as well as earning a combined four indoor and outdoor all-league accolades.
Cauhorn was one of 627 student-athletes recognized on the NCAA Division III list. To qualify for USTFCCCA All-Academic honors, the student-athlete must have compiled a cumulative grade-point average of 3.30 and must have met at least one of the following athletic standards: competed in an NCAA indoor or outdoor championship and finished the regular season ranked in the national top 50 in an individual event or ranked in the national top 35 in a relay event on the official NCAA descending order list.
