Fresh off a record-setting indoor campaign, Manchester University starts its outdoor slate Saturday, March 28, at the Hanover College Invitational.

Spartan Shorts: Saturday's event is part of an eight-meet schedule for the Black and Gold. They follow up their southern journey by hosting the annual Spartan Classic Thursday, April 2 … MU's women's squad registered a sparkling indoor season, placing a close second in the team race at the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Championships, adding another individual All-American honor to their total when senior jumps specialist Bridgette Rowe (La Quinta, Calif.) tied for fifth in the high jump, and setting records seven different times over the two-plus month span. On the men's side, a youthful roster saw growth throughout the season and produced 12 top five event finishes along the way. The HCAC coaches' preseason rankings tabbed the women's program as runner-ups and the men's program to place seventh at the 2015 championships set at Transylvania University April 24 and 25 … Rowe, sophomore thrower Shay Aator (West Lafayette, Ind.) and sophomore distance runner Mariah Jordan (Fort Wayne, Ind.) joined the upperclassman field event trio of senior thrower Stephen Coble (Edwardsburg, Mich.), senior jumps specialist Austin Finley (Kokomo, Ind.) and junior jumps specialist Tanner Odle (Rensselaer, Ind.) in earning pre-season recognition from the conference. They were all placed in the coaches' preseason poll "Athletes to Watch" section … Jordan will compete at the Washington University of St. Louis, Mo., Invitational Friday, March 27. She's slated to run in the 10,000 meters at approximately 8:30 p.m. EDST.
