STEVENS POINT, WIS. – A school-record 4:59.6 sent Manchester University sophomore Hannah Wappes across the finish line first in the mile run Saturday, March 3.

The Columbia City, Ind., native's time, re-calculated to a 4:56.57 for track size at the UW-Stevens Point's last chance national qualifying meet, soared her into the NCAA Division III performance list top 25 at No. 21. Wappes' championship in the mile, marking the sixth time this year she's earned at least one event title in a meet, was part of a pair of first five efforts, as she also wound up fourth in the 800 (2:21.48).

Junior sprinter Dasia Beck (Indianapolis, Ind.) added to the highlights for Coach Brian Cashdollar's crew. She raced to a season's best 8.12-second ending in the 60-meter dash which tied a career personal best. Senior jumps specialist Paige Keller (Greenville, Ohio) rounded out the Spartans' day placing in a tie for 12th in the pole vault (10 feet, 10 inches).
