Manchester University begins a span of three successive matches away from their campus outdoor courts with a brief trip to Winona Lake, Ind., and Grace College's Miller Field Tennis Courts Thursday, Sept. 27.

Dual details: First serve is set for 4 p.m.

Spartan Shorts: New faces have stepped to the forefront of recent successes for interim head coach Dr. Wendy Hoffman's team. Freshmen Madeline Russow (Logansport, Ind.) and Vanessa Mahmoud (South Bend, Ind.) have garnered the two singles victories, and they have each been involved with doubles' victories, too, along with the remainder of the Black and Gold roster with each duo standing 1-4 … Despite a 0-5 overall and 0-4 Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference start to the fall season, MU hasn't made it easy on the opposition, especially over the previous three matches. They were narrowly side-stepped by Defiance College Sept. 20, 6-3 and had chances at several avenues to change 8-1 defeats at the hands of Earlham College and Franklin College Sept. 22 and 23 … The Spartans' weekend plans have them taking a southern trek to Terre Haute, Ind., for a dual against Rose-Hulman Saturday, Sept. 29.
