Records Fall at OWU This Weekend

DELAWARE, Ohio – Manchester University wrapped up competition in the Corbiere-Merion Invitational hosted by Ohio Wesleyan on Sunday November 24.  Manchester was led by three record breaking performances this weekend.

On Saturday, senior Christain Poole (Anderson, Ind./Anderson) set the new school record in the 200-yard freestyle event with a time of 1:53.64.

The women's 400-yard freestyle relay team of Katie Blystone, Kara Heckmuller, Maria Wells, and Shelby Kell combined to set a new Manchester record with a time 3:54.85.

Brooke Tomlinson (Corunna, Mich./Corunna) scored 150.45 points in the 1-meter diving event.

On Sunday afternoon, Katie Blystone (Carmel, Ind./Carmel) shattered the school record in the 400-yard IM event.  Blystone's time of 5:10.98 shattered the previous record by 14 seconds. 

The Manchester women scored 169 points on the first day of the Corbiere-Merion Invitational.  By Sunday's end, the women had totaled 235 points.  The Manchester men finished with 45 points over the two-day event.  The Spartans will have a couple of months off until their next meet in early January 2020.
