TERRE HAUTE, IND. – Three top-five marks helped Manchester University close out a 277-point three-day total at the 2018 Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Championships Sunday, Feb. 11.
Senior Emily Clark (Peru, Ind.) and freshman Katie Blystone (Carmel, Ind.), just as they did a day earlier, led the way at the Vigo County Aquatics Center. Clark took third in the 200-yard backstroke (2:17.61), and she and Blystone went three-four in the 200-yard butterfly, with Blystone ending third (2:19.26) and the senior winding up fourth (2:21.20). Clark, who part of seven top-five marks, came back to lead off the fourth-place 400-yard freestyle crew that included freshman Bailey Conder (Greenwood, Ind.), junior Mikki Goetz (Highland, Ind.) and freshman Shelby Kell (Charlotteville, Ind.) to a time of 3:56.15.
MU's team point total left them fourth in the standings. The Black and Gold wrap up the 2017-18 season sending select individuals to Kenyon College of Ohio's Fast Chance meet Saturday, Feb. 24.
