NOTRE DAME, IND. – Freshman midfielder Jessica Hudnall (Noblesville, Ind.) tallied three shot attempts, two of which were knocked away by St. Mary's goalkeeper Delaney Rohlman, leading the statistics sheet for Manchester University Friday, Sept. 14.
Hudnall was one of two Spartans to garner at least two shot tries. Senior midfielder/forward Maranda Birmingham (Kouts, Ind.) was the other with two to her credit.
The host Belles broke up a scoreless tie early with a goal in the third minute and didn't look back, putting up five more to end the first half in route to a 6-0 decision. Freshman Gabrielle Carreon (Marion, Ind.) and senior Caroline Smith (Mason, Ohio) each earned six saves in the wake of a 37-6 shots advantage for SMC.
MU (0-6) returns to competition Monday, Sept. 17, traveling to Delaware, Ohio, for a 7:30 p.m. kickoff at Ohio Wesleyan University.
