Spartan Shorts: Women – The Spartans, winners of three of their last four, are 7-8-1 overall and 4-2-1 in the HCAC … The trio of senior forward Katelyn Barta (Griffith, Ind.), senior goalkeeper Emily Willmann (Montpelier, Ind.) and junior midfielder Bridgette Rowe (La Quinta, Calif.) are still within among the league's statistical top five. Barta is part of a three-way tie for fifth in goals (seven), ranks third in assists (six) and is tied for third points (20). Rowe stands fourth in goals (eight) and is tied for fifth in points (18), while Willmann is in a three-way tie for third in saves (99) … Willmann's next save will give her triple-digit totals in each of her four seasons as a Black and Gold net minder. The program's career leader is also tracking towards 500, as she is only 14 shy … Rowe's eight goals, 18 points and four game-winning scores are all tops for the Black and Gold, while Barta's 41 total shots, 26 shots on goal, six assists and 20 points also lead the way. Barta and Rowe's numbers have each enjoyed league play, as Barta's compiled five goals, two assists and 14 points, and Rowe has six goals, an assist and 13 points in the span.
