Fresh off a mid-week Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference split at Anderson University, Manchester University's men's and women's squads remain on the road for a doubleheader at Earlham College Saturday, Oct. 25.
Match specifics: Kickoffs are 1 p.m. for the women and 3:30 p.m. for the men at EC's Matlack Field.
Spartan Shorts: A 2-1 victory at AU Oct. 22 kept the Spartans (7-8 overall, 4-2 HCAC) firmly in the league's postseason tournament picture. They go to Richmond, Ind., sitting in fourth place and trail Rose-Hulman by just a half-match, in the loss column, for third … Since an 0-3 start, MU has a 58.3 winning percentage over its last 12 matches (7-5) … Junior midfielder Bridgette Rowe (La Quinta, Calif.) saw her stock rise on the conference's statistical charts after her second multi-goal contest of the season Wednesday. She's tied for third in goals (eight), a category in which she leads the team, and is tied with senior forward Katelyn Barta (Griffith, Ind.) for third in points (18) which is a total that shares the team top spot. Barta's second multi-assist effort of the year, occurring at AU, kept her in the squad lead, with six, and jumped her to second on the conference list. Senior goalkeeper Emily Willmann (Montpelier, Ind.), who picked up three saves against the Ravens, pushed her season total to 94 which stands fourth-best in the HCAC. She needs six more to wrap up her fourth successive 100-plus campaign … Rowe also has team leads in total shots (36), shots on goal (22) and game-winning scores (four).
Return Home: Franklin College comes to North Manchester for matches Tuesday and Wednesday, Oct. 28 and 29.
