The Fightin' Engineer men's squad (8-3-3 overall, 3-0-1 HCAC) holds a slim one-match lead on a three-way tie for second between Transylvania University of Kentucky, Franklin College and Defiance College of Ohio, while the Spartans (5-8 overall, 1-3 HCAC) look to jump back into the tourney picture after a close-knit mid-week loss at Bluffton University of Ohio. Today's women's clash pits a pair of teams looking to climb up the HCAC charts. MU (6-7 overall, 3-1 HCAC) is just a half-match behind second-place Franklin and a match shy of league-leading Hanover College, while Rose-Hulman (8-3-1 overall, 2-1-1 HCAC) stands only a match in the loss column behind fourth-place Anderson University and just one behind the Black and Gold for third.

Spartan Shorts: Women – Senior forward Katelyn Barta (Griffith, Ind.) and junior midfielder Bridgette Rowe (La Quinta, Calif.) saw their stock on the conference's statistics rise during a 5-0 win at Bluffton Oct. 14. Barta's two scores and Rowe's tally put them tied for fourth in goals (six each).
