Spartan Shorts: Senior goalkeeper Emily Willmann (Montpelier, Ind.) added to her school-record career shutout total Sept. 17 to spotlight a win over Heidelberg. Willmann's 21st clean sheet featured two saves in the midst of 10 HU shot attempts …On offense, the midfielder combination of junior Bridgette Rowe (La Quinta, Calif.) and sophomore Allison Moore (Richmond, Ind.) began the first half scoring with a pair of strikes just under 28 minutes in. Penalty kick markers from senior forward Katelyn Barta (Griffith, Ind.) in the first half and junior forward Brandy Crouse (Cleves, Ohio) during the second 45 minutes wrapped up MU's total. The Spartans accumulated 20 overall shots with Barta and Rowe topping the individual chart (four each) … Willmann and Barta are among the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference's top five in saves and assists, respectively. Willmann's 41 saves are tied for the league lead and among the top 50 in NCAA Division. Barta's two saves are part of an HCAC four-way tie for second … Rowe and Moore stand atop the MU goals' chart with two each, and Barta joins them for the points lead (four). Five Black and Gold players have posted goals through six matches.
