MU earns NSCAA honors

Manchester University was among 256 NCAA Division I, II and III and NAIA and NJCAA programs to earn mention on the 2013 National Soccer Coaches Association of America College Team Ethics and Sportsmanship awards.

The award recognizes teams that exhibit fair play, sporting behavior and adherence to the laws of the game as reflected by the number of yellow caution cards or red ejection cards they are shown by referees throughout the season. MU was one of 72 bronze honorees for earning no red cards and a maximum of 10 yellows during the 2013 season.

Junior forward Katelyn Barta (Griffith, Ind.) and junior goalkeeper Emily Willmann (Montpelier, Ind.) were noted for their academic success by the NSCAA as well. They each gained honorable mention status on the NSCAA's Scholar all-North/Central Region teams.
