Manchester Falls to Nationally-Ranked Pioneers on Senior Day

NORTH MANCHESTER, Ind. – The Manchester University women's basketball program honored its senior class before taking on No. 22 Transylvania on Saturday afternoon.  Prior to tip, seniors Isabella Zoog (Brownsburg, Ind. / Brownsburg), Faith-Alexis Graham (Indianapolis, Ind. / North Central), Beth Schaefer (Fort Wayne, Ind. / Carroll), Sara Carder (Ney, Ohio / Fairview) and Maddy Minehart (Auburn, Ind. / Eastside) were all honored with their families on the floor during a pregame ceremony.

The Spartans were not able to snap No. 22 Transylvania's lengthy win streak as the Pioneers won by an 82-48 final.  Transy has won 14 straight games and moved to 19-2, 13-1 HCAC on the season.

Senior Maddy Minehart led the Spartans with 10 points on 5-of-9 shooting.  Sara Carder added a season-high eight points and two rebounds.  Beth Schaefer finished with eight points, six rebounds, four assists, two blocks, and one steal.  Faith-Alexis Graham grabbed eight rebounds and had four assists.  Isabella Zoog added two assists and one steal.  Freshman Abby Walker (Cloverdale, Ind. / Cloverdale) added a three-pointer off the bench for MU.

Manchester will be back in action in Stauffer-Wolfe Arena on Monday February 4 at 7:30 p.m. against Earlham.
