Spartan Shorts: A quartet consisting of sophomore forward Tori Christlieb (Culver, Ind.), freshman guard Faith-Alexis Graham (Indianapolis, Ind.) and senior guards Katie Arterburn (Indianapolis, Ind.) and Justine Kruger (Francisville, Ind.) is among the HCAC's statistical top 15. Christlieb holds residence in two categories (rebounding – 5.9 – T-11/field goal pct. – 42.1 – 15th) and is just off the pace in blocked shots (.5 – No. 16). Graham and Kruger are tied for the No. 15 spot in assists (2.4 pg), and Arterburn is No. 9 in three-point field goal accuracy (37 percent) … Arterburn's long-range shooting prowess is also recognized on the NCAA Division III top 100. She's No. 62 in percentage and No. 98 in made treys … Sophomore forward Samantha Bolen (Greenwood, Ind.) and Kruger led the way against Transylvania, each registering 10 points. Looking further into the individual statistics, Bolen, who hit 50 percent from the field, was part of the top scoring framework for a third successive contest, and Kruger's double-figure effort included a team-high four assists along with one of the Black and Gold's five steals. Junior guard Jenifer Lee (Rockville, Ind.) came off the bench to tally nine points and dish out two assists, and freshman guard/forward Beth Schaefer (Fort Wayne, Ind.) came up big on the glass with eight boards to go with four points … Bolen found herself in double digits for the sixth time in the last seven contests. Since the span began, her points-per-game average is up nearly two (7.6-9.2). Schaefer's eight rebounds were a personal single-game high and the third time this year she's ended with five-or-more … The Spartans, sitting 4-11 overall and 2-6 HCAC, enter the week standing among a three-way knot for eighth with AU and Earlham College that's only a game behind a tie for fifth between Hanover College and Mt. St. Joseph University … MU has won nine in a row and 19 of the last 23 in the series including a sweep of the 2014-15 contests.
