The first half of the 2013-14 Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference schedule resumes Wednesday, Jan. 15.

Spartan Shorts: MU is 7-6 overall and 4-2 in the HCAC, part of a three-way tie for third with Rose-Hulman and Bluffton University of Ohio, while Anderson still seeks its first league victory … Several Spartan players are listed within the top 15 of the current conference statistics report. Junior guard Jocelyn Hamilton (Columbus, Ind.) leads the league in assists (6.2 pg) due to a run of 13 consecutive multiple-assist performances and is tied for No. 13 in steals (1.6 pg), while senior forward Erynn Meiklejohn (Fort Wayne, Ind.) is also listed in two categories -  No. 14 in scoring (11.8 ppg) and fifth in blocked shots (1.3 pg). Rounding out the impressive list, sophomore guard Katie Arterburn (Indianapolis, Ind.) is seventh in three-point field goal percentage (36.9), and junior center Alyssa Hammond (Osgood, Ind.) joins Meiklejohn in the blocked shots' scenario (.7 pg – No. 13) … Hamilton's guard play has also gotten the attention of the NCAA Division III statistics' report. She's No. 14 in assists and No. 33 in assist-to-turnover ratio (2.16) … The Spartans have won 14 of the last 19 in the series, dating back through 2005-06, which includes a current run of four straight.

Weekend Trip - Manchester University's men's and women's teams both take a southern journey to Hanover College Saturday, Jan. 18. Tip-off times are 3 p.m. for the men and 5 p.m. for women inside Horner Health and Recreation Center on HC's campus.
