Spartans take Windy City trek

A stretch of four of its next five games being away from its friendly confines of Stauffer-Wolfe Arena begins for Manchester University Saturday, Nov. 23, at the University of Chicago.

Spartan Shorts: Through two games, senior forward Erynn Meiklejohn (Fort Wayne, Ind.) and sophomore guard Katie Arterburn (Indianapolis, Ind.) are one-two on the Black and Gold scoring chart, averaging 12 and 11 points per game, respectively. Junior guard Jocelyn Hamilton (Columbus, Ind.) is off to a strong start, too, averaging eight assists, six rebounds and a steal-and-a-half a contest. She and Meiklejohn guided MU at its season-opening Main View Tip-Off Tournament Nov. 15 and 16, each earning all-tournament honors … Hamilton's assist numbers, at this early stage, lead the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference. Sophomore guard Justine Kruger (Francisville, Ind.), who averages 1.5 blocked shots per game, is in the top 10 as well … Following Saturday's game with Chicago and the Thanksgiving Week battle with Calvin, Manchester University breaks away from non-conference competition with three straight conference contests on the road.

Back Home: Calvin College of Michigan comes to North Manchester for a 6 p.m. start Tuesday, Nov. 26.
