ANGOLA, Ind. - Manchester University traveled to nearby Trine on Sunday afternoon for a non-conference doubleheader with the eleventh-ranked Thunder. The Thunder defeated the Spartans in both contests.

Manchester fell in a hard-fought, 2-0 contest in the second game of the day. Pitcher Lizzie Smith (Indianapolis, Ind. / Franklin Central) limited one of the nation's most prolific offenses to five hits and a pair of runs over six innings.

Manchester moved to 8-10 on the season. #11 Trine improved to 19-3. Manchester will return to action on Thursday April 11 at 3:30 p.m. against Anderson. Thursday's game is schedule to be the first home game of 2019 for Manchester.
