NORTH MANCHESTER, Ind. - Manchester University Cross Country hosted the annual Hokum Karem this evening featuring teams from Huntington University, Trine University, Indiana Tech, St. Francis, and Grace College.
The Manchester's men's team overall finished in the top four in the Hokum Karem. They placed three duos within the top 10. Daniel Baker (Okemos, Mich.) and Enrique Salazar (Plymouth, Ind.) led the way for Manchester by placing eighth with an overall time of 40:40.5. Baker's fastest lap was 4:54.7 and Salazar's fastest was 5:02.3.
Following this pair and finishing ninth overall was Lucas Fontanez (Lowell, Ind.) and Cameron Walton (Indianapolis, Ind.), and their fastest laps were 4:48.2 and 5:04.0, respectively. Together, their time was 40:46.2.
Rounding out the overall top 10 and Manchester's third duo that placed was Sam Barnard (Indianapolis, Ind.) and Thomas Richardson (Ladoga, Ind.), collectively running 40:52.4. Barnard's quickest lap was 4.54.2 and Richardson's was 5:02.5.
The men's cross country team will continue their season next weekend on Saturday September 7 at the Knight Invitational hosted by Calvin College.
