GREENCASTLE, IND. – Senior Harrison Hollis (Lebanon, Ind.) sprinted to a runner-up mark in the 100 and turned in a third-place finish in the 200 at the 2018 Indiana Little State Championships Saturday, April 14.
Hollis' fleet 10.83-second clocking in the 100 broke the old Blackstock Stadium record at DePauw University but was five-hundredths of a second off the title, as Anderson University's Toluwani Adebakin edged him at 10.78. He came back later for a time of 22.19 seconds in the 200, good for third in a 33-competitor field. The Black and Gold registered a third first three ending on the track, racing to a 43.34-second finish in the 4x100 meter relay.
In the field events, Director of Cross Country and Track and Field Brian Cashdollar's team, concluding the afternoon with 72 points to sit fourth in the standings, added a pair of top three marks. Sophomore Austin Roberts (Indianapolis, Ind.) hit the sand in 20 feet, nine inches in the long jump, and freshman Landon Balch (Rensselaer, Ind.) cleared six feet, two inches, a personal season and career best, in the high jump to take second.
