Track and Field Wraps up Competition at Defiance

DEFIANCE, Ohio – Manchester University track and field was in action on Friday evening at the Dick Small Invitational hosted by Defiance College. Seven event wins highlighted the Spartans' efforts.

Kelsey Tyler, Samina Qureshi, and Grace Spencer went 1-2-3 in the women's mile.  Freshman Olivia Brooks took home first-place in the shot put with a top toss of 11.29 meters.  Tara Conley placed second in the women's shot put with a distance of 10.69 meters.

Lucas Fontanez, Daniel Baker, and Sam Barnard also went 1-2-3 in the men's mile run.  Justin Meredith placed first in the long jump with a top jump of 6.16 meters.  Zacariaous Presha finished right behind Meredith with a jump of 6.15 meters on Friday.  Meredith also earned an event win in the triple jump with a first-place distance of 12.24 meters.

MU also ran unopposed in both 4-x-200 meter relays.

Manchester will head to Defiance again next Saturday February 16 for the HCAC Indoor Track and Field Championships.
