NORTH MANCHESTER, Ind. - The Manchester University men's tennis team defeated visiting IU-South Bend 7-2 on Tuesday night to improve to 5-8 on the season.
The Spartans swept doubles play against the Titans. Connor Eichenauer (North Manchester, Ind. / Manchester) and Isaac Miller (Millersburg, Ind. / Fairfield) paired for an 8-3 win at the No. 1 position. Bailey Buhrt (Warsaw, Ind. / Warsaw) and Samuel Hollingsworth (New Castle, Ind. / Blue River Valley) won 8-2 at the No. 2 slot. Dalton Bailey (Bourbon, Ind. / Triton) and Andrew Kibler (Cape Coral, Fla. / Mariner) rounded out the doubles sweep with an 8-4 triumph at the No. 3 flight.
Miller added a 6-4, 6-3 win at the No. 2 singles position. Buhrt triumphed 6-2, 6-3 at the No. 3 flight. Samuel Hollingsworth added a 6-1, 6-2 victory at the No. 4 slot and Andrew Kibler added a 6-3, 6-2 win at No. 6 singles.
The Spartans have won back to back matches and will travel to face Hanover College on Saturday April 27. Match time is set for 11 a.m.
