HANOVER, Ind. – Two young teams hit the pool this weekend in southern Indiana. Manchester, in its fourth year of sponsoring men's and women's swimming, fell to Hanover College, whose swimming programs are in their first year of competition, on Saturday afternoon at Southwestern High School in Hanover.
The Hanover men totaled 81 points to Manchester's 32. The HC women topped MU 109-18 in dual meet action on Saturday afternoon.
Christian Poole (Anderson, Ind. / Anderson) led the Spartans with wins in the 200-freestyle and 100-butterfly. Poole won the 200-freestyle with a time of 1:57.50 and had a winning time of 57.62 in the 100-butterfly.
Shelby Kell (Charlottesville, Ind. / Eastern Hancock) won the 100-freestyle with a time of 1:00.85.
The Spartans will return to the pool on Saturday January 12. Manchester University will host Wilmington (Ohio) College at 2 p.m. at the Strauss-Peabody Aquatic and Fitness Facility in North Manchester.
