The Spartans Are In! Men's Soccer Clinches 3rd Straight HCAC Tournament Berth

RICHMOND, Ind. – The Manchester University men's soccer team traveled to Earlham College and downed the Quakers 1-0 on Saturday November 2.  The Spartans beat Earlham for the fourth straight time and moved to 9-9-1, 6-3 HCAC.

Eleven total shots were taken by the Spartans on Saturday afternoon. The contest's lone goal came in the 39th minute from freshman Leo Rees (Orlando, Fla./Bishop Moore) Rees' game-winner was the first of his career.

Goalkeeper Justin Winterboer (Indianpolis, Ind./Pike) added five saves from and now has 45 saves on the season.

With the win at Earlham, Manchester clinched a spot in the HCAC Tournament for the third straight year. The Spartans locked up fourth place behind Rose Hulman, Hanover, and Transylvania. Manchester will travel to Hanover College on Wednesday November 6 for the HCAC Semifinal matchup against the Panthers.  Game time is set for 2 p.m.
