HUNTINGTON, Ind. – The Forester offense proved difficult to stop on Thursday afternoon as the Manchester men's soccer team dropped a non-conference road match at Huntington University by a final score of 4-1.
Huntington converted an early penalty kick in the 15th minute to grab a 1-0 to start Thursday's match.
In the 38th minute, Nick Surber (Hebron, Ind./Hebron) fired a shot past the Huntington goalkeeper and into the back of the net to tie the game at 1-1. It was Surber's first goal of 2019.
Less than two minutes later the Foresters retook the lead for good with a goal from Will Lengacher.
HU added a pair of goals in the second half from which the Spartans could not recover from.
Huntington improved to 6-2-1 with the win. Manchester fell to 2-4-1 on the year. The Spartans will host Elmhurst College on Saturday September 21 at 4 pm at Good Field.
