Manchester falls short in HCAC Tournament Semifinal

HANOVER, IND. - In the last few minutes of Tuesday's match, Hanover topped Manchester 1-0 in the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Tournament Semifinal on Oct. 30.

Manchester's defense continued to show hope against Hanover, as the Panthers shot on goal nine times throughout the match. Both teams were scoreless for the majority of the game, when it took almost all 90 minutes before Hanover's defender Ethan Miller would put the Panther's lone goal on the board. Manchester's lone shot on goal came from sophomore Josh Gonzalez (Portage, Ind.). Up until Hanover's score, senior goalkeeper Justin Meredith (Shelbyville, Ind.) tallied eight saves in the loss. 

The Spartans finished 8-10-1 (6-4 HCAC), and graduate seven seniors from the 2018 season: Meredith, Alex Sanders (Kouts, Ind.), Samuel Tetteh-Quarshie (Accra, Ghana), Zach Schmidt (Niles, Mich.), Drake DeWitt (Columbia City, Ind.), Jared Wondergem (Hudsonville, Mich.), and Josh McCoy (LaPorte, Ind.).
