NORTH MANCHESTER, IND. – A pair of seniors, a junior and a sophomore represented Manchester University on the "Players to Watch" section of the 2018 Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference men's soccer coaches poll, released Wednesday, August 22.
Midfielder Drake DeWitt (Columbia City, Ind.) and forward Jared Wondergem (Hudsonville, Mich.) were the senior designees. Junior defender Brandon Renninger (Fort Wayne, Ind.) and sophomore forward Josh Gonzalez (Portage, Ind.) rounded out the quartet of Spartans' honorees.
Coach Corey Brueggeman's program, fresh off an appearance in the conference postseason tournament in 2017, was picked fourth. They garnered 68 points just 10 shy of being among the first three. Transylvania University and Hanover College went one-two with Transylvania garnering 91 points and nine first-place votes and Hanover picking up 79 points and one first-place vote.
