Gonzalez forged the game-winning strike against Illinois Tech Sept. 1, while Niederhelman was credited with the save, as the freshman is first on the goals and points list and the junior is the same for the assists effort. Junior forward Drake DeWitt (Columbia City, Ind.) is first in total (four) and shots on goal (three), while senior goalkeeper Brady Forman's (Hastings, Mich.) 12 saves, one win and one shutout headline defensive statistics … Gonzalez' goal and point total find him among the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference's top five at an early stage. Niederhelman (assists) and Forman (saves) are in similar territory … Recent history for the Black and Gold at the Raven-Spartan event has been active. The program's record, in the tourney, is 5-2-2 dating back to 2013. They've matched up with Blackburn University, their Friday afternoon opponent, twice previously earning a win and tie in the span … Coach Corey Brueggeman's side takes to the road for back-to-back match-ups with Huntington University and Otterbein University Wednesday, Sept. 13, and Sunday, Sept. 17.
