INDIANAPOLIS, IND. – Manchester University put two individuals among the top 35 of the first two rounds of the 2018 Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Championships Saturday and Sunday, April 28 and 29.
Junior Connor Labedz (Aurora, Ill.) carded twin rounds of 81 at The Fort Golf Club for a 162 which was good for a tie for 26th at the tourney's midway point. Freshman Dillon McFaddin (Bedford, Ind.) was close behind with an 87-81, as his six-stroke improvement Sunday was part of a 17-stroke betterment for Coach Tara Boone's team from the first to the second 18s. McFaddin's 168 is tied for 34th.
MU's 681 has them eighth after 36 holes on the team standings. Perennial loop power Transylvania University tops the list (588) with Mt. St. Joseph University (611) and Hanover College (613) in striking range.
The 2018 championships conclude Saturday and Sunday, May 5 and 6, at the Eagle Rock Golf Club in Defiance, Ohio.
