KNIGHTSTOWN, IND. – Wrapping up four sub-80 rounds, Manchester University senior Quinton Flora (Huntington, Ind.) added his name to the historical annals Sunday, May 3.
Flora's final round 79 placed him sixth amongst the 43-golfer field at Royal Hylands Golf Club with a 72-hole total of 303. Ending a sparkling 2014-15 campaign and his collegiate career guiding MU to a sixth-place team finish, the senior was the low individual for the Black and Gold for an 11th successive tournament, dating back to the end of 2013-14, placing just a stroke shy of the top five in route to becoming the program's first all-conference honoree since 2007.
MU's 1271 total, sitting just 11 strokes behind Rose-Hulman for fifth, was aided by two other individual top 25s. Freshman Spencer Jackson (Greenwood, Ind.) and junior Dylan Burns (Hamilton, Ind.) placed 21st and 22nd, respectively, with Jackson carding a 319, and Burns shooting a 320.
Transylvania University captured the tournament title and league's automatic bid to the 2015 NCAA Division III Championships. The Pioneers' 1199 score placed them 32 strokes ahead of runner-up Mt. St. Joseph University.
