KNIGHTSTOWN, IND. – Bolstered by strong finishes from senior Quinton Flora (Huntington, Ind.) and freshman Spencer Jackson (Greenwood, Ind.), Manchester University registered the fourth-lowest team total during third round play at the 2015 Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Championships Saturday, May 2.
Flora's two-over-par 73 and Jackson's three-over-par 74 headlined MU's 307 afternoon at Royal Hylands Golf Club. Flora's total moved him to 224 for 54 holes and into a tie for fourth on the individual medalist chase, while Jackson's 18-hole score placed him in a tie for 20th (237).
The Spartans' 952 team tally set them just six strokes behind fifth-place Rose-Hulman going into the final round of action, set for an 11 a.m. start, Sunday, May 3. Transylvania University kept its large lead on second-place Franklin College intact (888-919).
