Spartans open HCAC play

The Manchester Spartans open up conference play on Saturday, December 1 against MSJ at home at 1pm. 

The Men's Basketball team under head coach Gerad Good open up conference play with a 1-3 overall record. In the four-game span they have averaged 78 PPG. Looking ahead at Saturday's game verses MSJ, the Lions average almost 68 PPG and also have a 1-3 overall record.

Thus far, the Spartans have been led by senior captain Adrian Johnson. He leads the team in minutes played (119), average PPG (20.7), and assists per game (24).

Fellow classmate Keiton Hall is second in average PPG with 10, followed closely by sophomore star Cornell Hampton with 9.5. Hampton leads the team is rebounding with an average of 5.2 per game. Three other Spartans are tied for second in rebounding: freshman Nathan CarbaughAdrian Johnson, and senior Abdul Ogunnaike all average 3.2 rebounds per game. 

The Spartans are also getting valuable minutes from sophomores Jalmen Sullivan and Matthew Westman. Both guards are already nearly clipping their total number of points from last season. 

The Spartans will look to end the Lions' four-game winning streak against the Spartans. Following this content, the Spartans continue conference play on Wednesday, December 5 at Defience College and Saturday, December 8 at Earlham.
