It's the final non-conference home game for Manchester University Wednesday, Dec. 6.
Game details: Tip-off time is 7:30 p.m. between the Spartans and Thomas More College of the President's Athletic Conference at Stauffer-Wolfe Arena … Live audio, statistics, and video are accessible via links at www.muspartans.com, the Internet home of Manchester University athletics … The host Spartans stand 1-5 overall and seek an end to a four-game skid. The Saints bring a 4-3 mark into the evening due to winning four of their last six.
Spartan Shorts: Junior guard Adrian Johnson (Indianapolis, Ind.), who moved his current run of double-digit scoring games to 12 this past weekend, finds himself among the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference's top 10 in several statistical categories. His 21 points per game average is second-highest, while he's first in made and attempted field goals (45 of 84); second in made and attempted free throws (31 of 37); sixth in total assists (19); eighth in total steals (eight); and 10th in blocked shots (three). Junior forward/center Enis Becirevic (Fort Wayne, Ind.) holds similar residence in rebounding (5.3 pg – No. 9); and the trio of senior guard Brody Kirby (Frankfort, Ind.), senior forward Kenny Doss, Jr. (Chicago, Ill.), and junior guard David Stinson (Aurora, Ill.) ranks four through six in steals per game (Stinson, 2.2 – No. 4/Kirby and Doss, Jr. – 1.8 – Nos. 5 and 6) … Three MU players wound up in scoring double digits, highlighting an HCAC road trip to Mt. St. Joseph Dec. 2. Freshman guard/forward Cornell Hampton (Griffith, Ind.) turned in his best collegiate effort to date, tallying a team-leading 17 points to go with seven rebounds off the bench in 29 minutes. Becirevic registered his third successive double-figure contest with 13 points, and Johnson, who earlier in the week became the 29th member of the Black and Gold's 1,000-point club, finished with 11. Unfortunately, the trio's totals couldn't off-set MSJ firing better than 55 percent from the field overall and outside the arc at the Harrington Center. The Lions scored 28 of the first 42 points and didn't look back in route to a 75-60 victory … The match-up with Thomas More is the last non-league game for Coach Gerad Good's side until Dec. 29 and 30 when they travel to Atlanta, Ga., for Oglethorpe University's Holiday Inn Express and Suites tournament.
