They're only a game out of a three-way tie for fourth place in the HCAC … The Black and Gold's week got off to a roaring start, as they claimed a back-and-forth donnybrook against HCAC rival Anderson 90-86 Feb. 10. Dolezal's 23-point, seven-rebound night keyed the attack, while freshman guard Adrian Johnson (Indianapolis, Ind.) finished with an impressive line of 21 points, six assists, four steals and three rebounds … Dolezal, with efforts such as Wednesday included, stands on the brink of a big personal milestone. He's four points shy of becoming the program's 28th member of the 1,000-point club and the first to do so since Jamaal Wade compiled four digits from 2004-08 … Six statistical categories are among the conference's top five with three games remaining. Johnson is the league leader in steals (two pg), ranks third in scoring (18.6 ppg)and is tied for fifth in assists (3.5 pg); sophomore forward/center Enis Becirevic (Fort Wayne, Ind.) holds down the top spot in field goal percentage (64.7); Brown is second in three-point field goal accuracy (52.7); and junior guard Blake Brouwer's (Elkhart, Ind.) .9 blocked shots per game are third-best … Becirevic's rise into the league's field goal accuracy lead is seen due to18 games converting at 50 percent or higher. The sophomore isn't stopping there though, as his rebounding season average is on the rise, too. He's averaging six boards over his last three appearances to raise the mark three-tenths (3.5-3.8). Johnson's move up the loop's assists and steals charts is proven due to a solid recent stretch as well. The freshman's dished out five-or-more assists six times in his last eight outings and garnered three steals-or-more three times in the same span … The current series trend versus Rose-Hulman couldn't be much closer, as MU's 79-75 decision at Terre Haute last month meant the Fightin' Engineers hold a narrow 8-7 edge in the last 15 meetings.
