IU-Northwest trip next for MU

Manchester University concludes its 2014-15 pre-Christmas schedule with a non-conference contest Tuesday, Dec. 16.

Game specifics: Tipoff time at Indiana University – Northwest of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics is 7 p.m. inside the Savannah Center … Live audio and video are available via a link at www.muspartans.com, the Internet home of Manchester University athletics.

Spartan Shorts: MU sports a 2-6 record … The Black and Gold has shown strong scoring balance over eight games. Four players average double figures led by junior guard Brady Dolezal (Tipton, Ind.) at 14.5 points a game. Junior forward Matt Brown (Hobart, Ind.) is close behind (13.9 ppg) with sophomore guard Blake Brouwer (Elkhart, Ind.) and junior forward Jarod Schrock (Logansport, Ind.) averaging 10.5 and 10 points per game. Dolezal's march to the scoring chart top spot is due, in large part, to a run of tallying double digits in 20 of his last 21 games dating back through the end of 2013-14, while Brouwer's seen his scoring average leap better than four points (six – 10.5 points) due to four double-figure totals in the last five contests … Going beyond point totals on Manchester University's statistics, Schrock is the squad's top rebounder (5.8 per game), while Dolezal is first in steals (six). Senior guard Caleb Jackson (New Castle, Ind.) leads the way in assists (30) and blocked shots (four) … Brouwer is the only Spartan within the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference's overall top five, ranking fourth in total (60.8) and three-point (47.6) field goal percentage. Taking a look at the NCAA Division III national statistics report for games played through Dec. 11, MU is in the top five of being whistled for the fewest personal fouls per game (14.1 – No. 5).

Winter Break Schedule Continues: A northern trek to Finlandia University of Michigan is next for the Black and Gold Monday, Dec. 29.
