HANOVER, Ind. – The Manchester University football team was not able to overcome a fast start by the host Hanover College Panthers on Saturday afternoon as the Spartans fell by a final score of 56-7.
Hanover scored three times in the first quarter to grab a 21-0 lead.
Senior quarterback Austin Roberts (Indianapolis, Ind./North Central) accounted for MU's only touchdown of the day, scoring on a 32-yard run in the second quarter.
Hanover was dominant on both sides of the ball on Saturday afternoon as the Panthers racked up 618 yards of total offense. The Spartans were limited to 136 yards of offense.
Freshman Devontay Moore (Indianapolis, Ind./North Central) led Manchester with seven tackles and a fumble recovery. Jaquan Walker (Hawthorne, Fla./Interlachen) finished with five tackles and three pass breakups.
Manchester (2-5, 1-3 HCAC) will return home to host Bluffton University next weekend. Kickoff from Burt Field on November 2 is scheduled for 1:30 p.m.
Hanover (6-1, 4-0 HCAC) will battle Mount St. Joseph on the road next weekend.
