WESTFIELD, IND. – Junior outfielder Tyler LaFollette (Warsaw, Ind.) garnered a pair of multiple-hit efforts, guiding Manchester University in Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference action Thursday, April 5.

LaFollette went two-for-three in the opener against rival Anderson University at Grand Park and then came back with a two-for-four outing against the Ravens in game two. Other offensive highlights for Coach Rick Espeset's crew in 6-1 and 7-2 losses came from sophomore designated hitter Joe Gallatin (Muncie, Ind.) and junior shortstop Braxton Riley (Fort Wayne, Ind.) who each tallied doubles during the late afternoon/evening.

Junior pitcher Jordan Hilyard (Decatur, Ind.) battled AU ace John Becker tooth-and-nail in game one, allowing only three earned runs and striking out three over seven and two-thirds innings. In the wake of suffering his first loss of the season, Hilyard's earned run average remained at a small 1.90. Senior Stephen Pinarski (Goshen, Ind.) and junior John Magers (Noblesville, Ind.) combined for six strikeouts in game two .

The Black and Gold (11-11 overall, 1-3 HCAC) resumes a hectic week's slate Saturday, April 7, hosting Rose-Hulman in a 12 p.m. doubleheader at Gratz Field.
