An eighth place finish for the women, and ninth place finish for the men were the outcomes for Manchester University on the 2018-19 Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference preseason polls, released the week of Oct. 21-26.
Coach Josh Dzurick's women's program was slated to finish eighth in the HCAC polls after recieving 30 points. Defending champions Rose-Hulman was predicted to finish first with 96 points, followed by Transylvania University (89) and Hanover College (81). Senior guard Faith-Alexis Graham (Indianapolis, Ind.), and junior guard Nicole Weaver (Fort Wayne, Ind.) were noted in the Players to Watch section.
Coach Gerad Good's men's program found themselves tied with Defiance College for a ninth place prediction with 20 points. Rose-Hulman was predicted to win this years title with 96 points, followed by Transylvania University (86) and Hanover College (80). Senior guard Robbie Johnson (Indianapolis, Ind.), sophomore forward Cornell Hampton (Griffith, Ind.), and sophomore Matthew Westman (Michigan City, Ind.) all represented Manchester on the Players to Watch section.
Manchester University's women begin the 2018-19 season on Friday, Nov. 16 against Bethany (W.V) at 7pm, as Manchester hosts the annual Main View Tip-Off Tournament. The men's team begins their season on Tuesday, Nov. 13 against Purdue Fort Wayne at the Memorial Coliseum located in Fort Wayne, Ind at 7pm.
