DELAWARE, OHIO – The big board at Strauss-Peabody Aquatic and Fitness Center continued to see change Saturday and Sunday, Nov. 19 and 20.
Junior women's swimmer Emily Clark (Peru, Ind.) registered a 2:31.3 in the 200-yard backstroke; freshman men's swimmer Triston Mahoney (Titusville, Ind.) touched the wall in 57.48 seconds in the 100-yard butterfly; and the women's quartet of sophomore Mikki Goetz (Highland, Ind.), junior Megan Erwin (Attica, Ind.), sophomore Catherine Brown (Bristol, Ind.) and sophomore Annie Barce (Fowler, Ind.) swam the 200-yard freestyle relay in 1:57.06. All three marks were new Manchester University standards, as the Black and Gold posted 256.5 points in the women's team standings and 183.5 points for the men during the two-day Corbiere-Merion Invitational hosted by Ohio Wesleyan University.
The marks were just part of the story for Coach Mike Kroll's team at the Meek Aquatics and Recreation Center. Sophomore men's diver Anjel Clemente (Rensselaer, Ind.) won his second one-meter diving event of the 2016-17 season, totaling 371.4 points during the five and six-dive competitions. Other top five marks went to the women's 800-yard freestyle relay team of Brown, Clark, Goetz and sophomore Jamie McBride (Elkhart, Ind.) (5th – 9:23.59) and sophomore men's swimmer Quinn-Michael L'Heureux (Fort Wayne, Ind.) who raced to fourth in the 100-yard breaststroke (63.53 seconds).
Manchester University's pre-winter break schedule concludes Saturday, Dec. 3. They're part of the men's and women's team rosters for the Illinois Tech Ted Eriksen Invitational in Chicago, Ill.
