BLUFFTON, OHIO – Senior outside hitter Courtney Chowning (Yorktown, Ind.) delivered a team-leading 12 kills, and junior outside hitter Ally Roskos (Elkhart, Ind.) ended with a .286 hitting percentage and five digs, spotlighting Manchester University's evening at Bluffton University's Sommer Center Wednesday, Oct. 19.

Chowning, extending a current streak of double-digit kill matches to eight, added eight digs and a pair of block assists to her stat line. Roskos contributed the team's lone service ace to go with her hitting and digging figures. Other team leaders for the Spartans (12-11 overall, 4-4 Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference) against the co-league leaders in a 25-16, 25-15, 25-20 loss were freshman defensive specialist/libero Anna Marie Lawrie (Indianapolis, Ind.) (nine digs); sophomore middle hitter Hannah Tevis (Royal Center, Ind.) (three blocks); and sophomore setter Dakota Stanichuk (Athens, Mich.) (22 assists).

MU continues a current run of three straight road contests Saturday, Oct. 22. They take an eastern jaunt to Chicago, Ill., for a tri-match with the Redhawks and Great Lakes Christian College. Start times are 1 p.m. vs. GLCC and 6 p.m. against Illinois Tech.
