TERRE HAUTE, IND. – Manchester University sophomore middle hitter Morgan Pavelka (Noblesville, Ind.) continued an impressive personal streak during a 3-0 Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference loss at Rose-Hulman Saturday, Nov. 2.
Pavelka recorded her fourth .250-or-higher attack percentage in the last five matches to lead the Spartans (7-18 overall, 2-7 HCAC) in a 25-11, 25-16, 25-15 defeat to the Fightin' Engineers. Her eight kills and .438 attack percentage topped MU's offense.
Senior defensive specialist Makenna Hamilton (Medaryville, Ind.) wrapped up her collegiate career on a strong note by recording a team-best seven digs. Other top numbers belonged to junior defensive specialist Morgan Yoder (Goshen, Ind.) who served up the Spartans' two aces; sophomore outside hitter Stephanie Barmes (Greenwood, Ind.) who tallied a solo block and block assist; and sophomore setter Mikayla Munn (Elkhart, Ind.) who turned in a .400 attack percentage (two kills – no errors – five attempts) and 18 assists.
NOTES: Munn concluded the year with a run of eight consecutive double-figure assist matches … Barmes had a similar roll, to end her first season in a Black and Gold uniform, in successive matches with a block.
