Spartans wrap up 2012

LEXINGTON, KY. – Manchester University battled Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference foe Transylvania University throughout as part of a triangular Saturday, Oct. 27.

The Spartans, dropping a pair of 3-0 decisions to the Pioneers and non-conference opponent Asbury College, closed their season with an 11-9 overall and 2-7 HCAC record.

Against Transy, Coach Kendra Marlowe's squad took the league co-champions to a 25-23 first set final and a 25-21 third set score. Freshman outside hitter Sarah Pruden (Noblesville, Ind.) led the way for the MU offense with 12 kills and four block assists, while fellow freshman Morgan Pavelka (Noblesville, Ind.) added seven kills, a .300 attack percentage and four block assists. Freshman defensive specialist/libero Meika Kennedy (North Manchester, Ind.) tallied a team-best 13 digs.
