Aator produces national top 10 effort
GENEVA, OHIO - Manchester University senior thrower Shay Aator (West Lafayette, Ind.) brought the curtain down on a sparkling college career Saturday, May 27, at the 2017 NCAA Division III outdoor track and field championships.
Aator, who had the made Spartans' school record her own personal project throughout 2017, crushed it again at The Spire Institute facility. Her moon toss of 53.42 meters defeated the former mark by better than two meters. It also left her just one spot shy of All-American status, in ninth place, as she compiled her second top 10 effort at a national championship event adding to her ninth-place ending indoors in the weight throw this past March.
Her Black and Gold career resume ended with a combined six indoor and outdoor Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference championships including four in the hammer. She was also a three-time combined indoor and outdoor all-United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association all-Great Lakes region honoree.
