The finals appearance was the host program's fifth in the last six years of the tournament … The sophomore-junior guard-forward/center combination of Nicole Weaver (Fort Wayne, Ind.) and Beth Schaefer (Fort Wayne, Ind.) topped individual efforts. Weaver averaged 12 points per game, due in large part to canning four three-pointers, and Schaefer, who converted the game-winning putback with six seconds left against OWU, was just below double digits in points (9.5) to go with 4.5 rebounds per game and a 53.3 percent field goal conversion rate over the two nights.
